New Zealand - The Best Hunting and Fishing Destination in the World!
World Class Fishing and Hunting has a true 5 star outfit in New Zealand. Our exclusive outfitter has some of the best hunting in that great country at the best prices! The lodging and full time staff are simply amazing!!
Our exclusive business partner was first introduced to the guiding industry in 1994 where he was employed by a New Zealand outfitting company as a packer/guide. In November 1995 and at the age of 22 he formed his own company. He is a member of the New Zealand Professional Hunting Guides Association and in conjunction with his hunting operation in New Zealand, has guided hunters through out the South Pacific, North America, Asia, Europe and England.
Hunting to him is more than a business, it's his life. If it's not the hunting season in New Zealand, he is usually overseas guiding hunters for other companies, hunting for himself or arranging hunts for our next season. He's been on both sides of the "fence" as the guide and client and he knows what it feels like to be misled. We have one main motto in life and this is, We treat people the way we would like to be treated.

To us every hunter is different. Everybody has different hunting styles and preferred methods of hunting. All our hunts are custom designed to suit each hunter. We offer a number of different hunting methods.
1. Hunting from our main lodge each day.
For people who enjoy "home comforts" while hunting.
2. 5000-7000ft spike camps.
For people wanting the more "remote" hunting experience.
3. "Helicopter day hunts" from our lodge into our Wilderness area.
For people who want the "remote" hunting experience but who also like to have a few home comforts at night.
4. Combination of the above three options.
Our operation has the reputation for providing international trophy hunters some of the best hunting opportunities throughout New Zealand.
"We own our own hunting area in the heart of the Southern Alps, located in one of the best areas in New Zealand for Red Stag, Tahr, Chamois, Fallow and Wapiti. In conjunction with our own ranch we also lease two other ranches. Both these ranches have high numbers of resident Stag, Whitetail and Fallow. By having three ranches to hunt on we are not limited like most other New Zealand outfitting companies to only being able to hunt on one property. This means we are able to be more selective in the animals we harvest, hence the reason why our trophy quality is so high."
"Our guides are some of the most experienced hunters in the South Pacific. They work together as a team to increase your chances of finding that great trophy. During our off season (mid-August to December) most of our guides travel to North America to guide hunters in the States and British Colombia."
In 2006 our partner received the prestigious SCI International Professional Hunter of the Year Award!
Over the last 12 years, he has guided more than 200 successful hunters in New Zealand, as well as assisted in guiding Marco Polo sheep hunters in Kyrgyzstan, big horn sheep hunters in Colorado and hunters in Alaska.
With hunting operations based in New Zealand, we were able to develop hunting friends in many parts of the world. He has hunted in Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Turkey, England, Mexico, British Columbia and many of the lower 48 states.
He is a life member of SCI and has been a long-time supporter of SCI and the Auction Program. He is a member of FNAWS, Grand Slam Club, Mule Deer Foundation and many other wildlife organizations. His goal is to provide honest, challenging and ethical hunting for future hunting generations. Reproduced courtesy of SCI Magazine.
Our New Zealand Hunting operation is one of the few hunting companies in the world that has a "Hunt Satisfaction" policy. If you hunt with us and don't have at least one shooting opportunity at the desired game you came after, or find the guides, organization and lodgings inadequate or through any lack of effort from us you are entitled to a full refund of your hunt payment. We have this "hunt satisfaction" policy so people can see how confident we are of providing them with a high quality hunting experience.
If you are seriously thinking about hunting New Zealand, I would suggest calling so we can provide our past clients and ask them what they thought of their New Zealand experience.
Our team looks forward to sharing "our" New Zealand with you!!
HUNTING SEASONS: As Unlike most countries, New Zealand has no government imposed hunting seasons for Big Game Hunting. Our Big Game Hunting starts in Feb and finishes in Aug. As you're probably aware, New Zealand’s seasons are opposite to those in the Northern Hemisphere. When it's winter there, it's summer here.
TRAVELING TO NEW ZEALAND: There are daily direct flights that leave Los Angeles for Auckland, which is your point of entry to New Zealand. Auckland is also the port where you will clear customs. From there you will fly to Queenstown. We suggest you arrive 1-2 days prior to your hunt commencing, so you can adjust to our climate and get over any jet lag you may have.
IMPORTATION OF FIREARMS: New Zealand is a "hunter friendly" destination. It is very easy to bring a conventional sporting firearm into the country. Approximately 6 weeks before your safari commences, you will be sent a firearm import permit. On receiving this form, you should fill in the appropriate places and fax it to the Auckland Airport Police. Their fax number is 011-649-256-0486. Your information will then be transferred to their computer and it should take no longer than 5-10 minutes to clear your guns on arriving at Auckland International Airport.
RIFLES AND SHOOTING DISTANCES: Shots will vary from 100-250 yards. Any caliber between the .270 and .300 Win Mag is adequate for New Zealand hunting conditions. We have good reliable firearms available for people who do not wish to bring their own.
RED STAG & FALLOW DEER - The Stag rut or roar begins late March and continues through to early May. During this time, the Stags become very vocal and sometimes aggressive. Our Stag and Fallow deer are hunted on privately owned land. Our total Stag hunting area is 45,000 acres and is a combination of both free range and high fenced. The terrain on these ranches vary from small rolling hill country to near mountainous terrain.
TAHR & CHAMOIS - Are hunted in the Southern Alps. They can be hunted in many different ways, on foot, spike camp, or helicopter assisted. They rut May, June and early July. At this time the mature Bulls have their long winter coats. They can successfully be hunted from mid February though August.
DUCK HUNTING - The season starts on the first Saturday in May and finishes the last Sunday in July. During this season you'll hunt Mallard, Grey, Shoveller and Paradise ducks, Black Swan, Canadian Geese and Pheasant. The limits are a mixed bag of 50 ducks, 5 swans and no limit on geese..
TURKEY - Approximately 2000 Merrium turkeys are currently on our 35,000 acre ranch. Hunters will see 100-150 birds per day. Limit is three Toms per day per hunter.
SMALL GAME HUNTING - We have a large number of wallaby, hare and rabbit in our region and it is not uncommon for a hunter to shoot 80-100 rabbits in an afternoon.
HUNT DURATION AND SUGGESTED HUNTING COMBINATIONS
1-2 species 5 days. 3-4 species 7 days.
From Queenstown to the hunting lodge is 1½ hours. We have one of the finest hunting lodges in New Zealand. Located in the South Island’s remote Ahuriri Valley, it is situated amongst some of New Zealand's most spectacular mountain scenery. This brand new facility provides superb accommodation with spacious, comfortable bedrooms with their own suites.
From the Stag hunting lodge to the Bird hunting lodge in Waimate is 1½ hours.
EXPEDITING OF TROPHIES: All trophy preparation/crating is done in our own facility. We have a full time "in house" expediting service. This means we have 100% control over the way our hunters trophies are cared for and prepared for shipping. We are one of the only hunting companies in New Zealand that do this. Most other hunting companies take your trophies to their local taxidermist and have them prepare the hides. Unfortunately by doing this the other New Zealand hunting companies loose control over the way your trophies are handled and prepared for shipping.
Non Hunting Activities:
New Zealand offers much more than just great hunting opportunities. It's extremely diverse landscape includes luxuriant rain forest, near desert country and rugged coastlines, all set amongst some of the most spectacular mountains any where in the world.
Personalized tours of New Zealand can be arranged either before or after your safari. Non-hunting partners may enjoy this option while the safari is in progress. Allow five to seven days to explore some of the South Island's best attractions and activities.
Things to see and do.
